Announcing Chef Luis A. Clavel to be Oakfield's new Executive Chef this season

Chef Luis brings a lifetime of experience to the club as we begin to redesign our food & beverage offerings to our members.

Chef Luis learned his trade at The Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) right here in Halifax.  He has recently held the Executive Chef position at RCR Catering that represents The Cut Steak House, Shuck Seafood and The East of Grafton Tavern.  Chef Luis has opened a number of restaurants in the Halifax area and also was a culinary instructor at NSCC.  He has also held leadership positions at The Westin Hotel and The Sheraton Hotel.

Chef Luis is a Red Seal chef with a number of accolades; including being nominated for chef of the year for The Nova Scotia Association of Chefs, and took home the silver medal at The National Canadian Chef of The Year Competition.  He has a number of Gold Medals while representing Team Nova Scotia at cooking competitions.  He is also a trained sommelier (a wine steward) and is fluent in Spanish. 

With the help of Chef Luis, we will redefine the Oakfield dining experience for members and non-membersStay tuned for his new and exciting menu!  We will also be hosting cooking classes for members to learn from the best and to improve their cooking at home! Welcome aboard Chef Luis!
